There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to kindness leads. The purpose of a kindness lead is to increase the width of the area of pull around the front of a dog's neck. A true kindness lead will have cord that runs down both sides of some type of fabric to achieve this goal. The fabric will not be too wide either so that it will not bunch up when in use.

Many manufacturers take a simple piece of fabric and sew it over a regular show lead. This does nothing but make the people feel their dogs are being treated better as they call it a kindness lead. In reality it is not a true kindness lead. If you pull on a regular lead with fabric sewn over it, you will be pulling on a regular lead as the fabric does not have the stability to widen the area of pull.

When we set out to do our own line of kindness leads, we got input from a lot of different places. There was a minimum of 6 months of planning and samples before we had a product we were happy with. Our kindness leads are much better than the average as they do what they are supposed to do, even on small toy dogs. Our kindness leads have visible cord down both outside edges of the fabric. The fabric is only 1/2" wide so that they are narrow enough not to bunch up around your dog's neck. If you have a kindness lead that bunches, it is not doing what it is meant to do.

We encourage you to test any kindness leads you have, from us or anyone else. Simply put the fabric of the kindness lead around your hand or wrist. Pull on the lead and move your hand around. If he lead maintains the same width of pull when you move your hand, you know you have a true kindness lead that will benefit your dog.

Please let us know if you have any questions or further input on this subject.
